In 1898 a man with the unlikely name of E. St. Elmo Lewis created the marketing funnel variations of which we still use today. However, while the core principle has not changed how we do our work could not have been imagined by Mr. Lewis. 

Effective marketing communication is understanding the customer so well we can move them through the funnel from stranger to fan with as little friction in the process as possible.
