Following up on Gray's post about Jelli-- here's a screen grab of their main functionality. What a great concept-- democratic radio! A full user-gen playlist-- why not? Vote songs up and down, and even vote to cancel a song in the middle, if it's that bad.
This is an extension of what we've always done, isn't it? A horrid song comes on your favorite station, and you hit the SCAN button or flip through your pre-programmed alternatives? We're not a culture that tends to sit through things it dislikes*, and music is of course no exception. But if you had control up-front, you'd never hear a song you didn't like, right?
*Gray! I'd love to know what you thought of this concept! Is it mostly true or mostly false?
