Truth?
I was very interested in Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's interview in Der Spiegel. He seems to doubt whether the Holocaust ever happened. Not surprising, since he believes Israel should not exist. While it's frightening that someone who wants Israel destroyed is on the verge of getting a nuke, my interest took a different direction.
First, I'm concerned by how easily we humans can convince ourselves a lie is true just because it's convenient. We seem to be able to easily manipulate our perceptions and then, if necessary, go to war to prove we're right.
Second, my whole life I've heard the term "well, that's YOUR truth," when discussing politics or religion, as if reality is optional.
Here's the bottom line: Don't trust yourself, read, listen, think and be willing to admit when you’re wrong!
