iPod Cellphone said to be Imminent

I don't know, I'm not a huge fan of convergence of gadgets. It seems to me that different products, i.e. Mp3 player, cell phone, pda all develop at different rates. When you buy an all in one product you have to make a lot of compromises. For instance, currently, I'm using my Tungsten T2 as both my pda and my mp3 player. I really don't like how it works as a player and am considering adding another device to my geek bag.

But if you're into this kind of stuff here's an article about the soon-to-be-released moto phone with iTunes built in.

Interesting...

Lately, I have been listening to Nightline's podcast. Basically, it's just the previous night's show's audio. It has become one of my favorite podcasts. BTW, if you not listening to podcasts, check it out. You can get to it through iTunes 4.9+.

Anyway, the one I'm listening to right now, is about a film maker who was in Iraq legally and was arrested by the U.S. military mistakenly. He was denied his rights both human and legal and it took 53 days before he was released.

Here's the point. It doesn't matter if you are against this war or not in this instance. Yes, people are trying to kill us. But you can detain people without abusing them. I'm really not that upset that this guy was wrongfully detained, I'm ticked that he was left in the sun for hours to dehydrate and that evidence was fabricated, making his imprisonment longer than it need be.

It all comes down to this; if you have no moral value system going into a war; then you can rationalize any behavior as what is required to win the war. To me, that's unacceptable.

Brand New Call for Help Website

The Call for help website has been redesigned with a "G4" look. And since the show will now be airing in the U.S., the site is now at CallForHelpTV.com instead of at G4techTV.ca.

This is really great news and hopefully indicates the idiots over at G4 are finally coming to their senses and bringing back some of the old TechTV gang. I've completely stopped watching the channel since they fired everyone who had talent.

Unbelievable

I've just finished reading a truly great opinion piece from John C. Dvorak. I'm telling you, if we don't seize control of our freedoms, our politicians will sell our souls for a bowl of porridge. They are so far in bed with the cable and phone companies it's frightening.

Our safety, freedom and financial futures are being held captive by a bunch of corrupt, poorly informed demagogues.

Check it out here.
